As a Finance Manager at Smartly, you will...

• Lead the accounting for Smartly's R&D capitalisation, leases, and assisting with share based payments under IFRS.
• Play a key role in month-end closing, assisting the Accounting team and preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Perform variance analysis on financial statements, providing insights into deviations from budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Own the implementation and ongoing monitoring of effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Contribute to the annual audit processes (both Group audit and local statutory audits), liaising with external auditors and ensuring all audit requirements are met.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting functions and improve efficiency.
• Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

We're definitely looking for you, if you have...

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years accounting or audit experience, with Big-Four experience preferred.
• Technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 38, IFRS 2, IFRS 16 is advantageous.
• Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems such as Netsuite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic tech environment.
• Ability to work in the Helsinki Smartly office 3 days a week (more if you prefer).
