Job Purpose Providing technical support in Science Laboratories (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) by implementing the SABIS® Educational System™ to ensure an environment conducive to learning. Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly in the lab.
Ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned.
Ensuring that chemicals and apparatus are appropriately stored.
Ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and ready to use.
Ensuring that correct chemicals and apparatus are available and ready for particular lessons.
Being able to prepare solutions of desired concentrations from stock bottles.
Being able to prepare indicator solutions from stock solid.
Fixing equipment in the lab.
Running trials of experiments prior to classes to ensure smooth running of classes.
Managing the stock control of chemicals and equipment in laboratories.
Distributing science posters to classes for display each term.
Coordinating the use of labs and equipment among various classes and teachers.
Working closely with teachers during lab sessions and helping students when needed.
Liaising with Heads of Departments to prepare a timetable for lab use and to set requirements of various sessions inside and outside the labs.
Preparing the lab for AS and A-Level board exams.
Completing other administrative task assigned by the school administration.
Ideal Requirements:
Bachelor degree in a related subject or equivalent
