What you’ll do
We are seeking an experienced and innovative VP of Engineering to lead and oversee all aspects of engineering for the design and execution of our bio CCU technology at our first-of-a-kind commercial plant. This role will be critical to ensuring the successful delivery of our cutting-edge CO2 conversion technology, from design through execution, as we scale from concept to commercial operation in the next 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering team, driving the design, optimization, and execution of our bio CCU technology across all project phases as we transition to a multi-plant chemical manufacturing business.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, coordinating and communicating key milestones with internal teams and leadership as well as senior external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Manage the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor, ensuring project delivery meets the highest technical and operational standards, on time and on budget.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and science teams to ensure seamless integration of design, process safety, and control systems.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering deliverables, maintaining clear communication across disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Champion innovative engineering solutions that enhance the scalability, efficiency, and environmental impact of our technology.
Minimum Requirements
- Extensive experience leading engineering teams for mid-to-large-scale projects, ideally in the biotech, chemical, or renewable energy industries.
- Strong expertise in process engineering with a proven ability to transition from R&D to commercial operations.
- Demonstrated success in managing EPC contractors, driving project timelines, and overseeing budgetary constraints.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a focus on building strong collaborative relationships across teams and departments.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the ability to balance high-level strategy with day-to-day operational challenges.
