Volunteer at a night shelter for Copenhagen's homeless community!
Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? Would you like to help support homeless and socially vulnerable people from all over the world?
For the tenth season in a row, Kirkens Korshær/Dan Church Social will open a winter night shelter for Copenhagen’s homeless community in Hellig Kors Kirke. The shelter is located at Kapelvej 38 in Nørrebro and is open Sunday-Friday from 22:00-07:00.
We are looking for volunteers to support the staff during the beginning of each shift (approximately 21:15-23:15). This could include practical tasks such as setting up the sleeping area, making coffee, welcoming guests, distributing blankets, and so on. You will be working with two staff members who are trained and experienced in working with our target group so you will always be in great hands : )
We are hoping to find volunteers who would like to volunteer consistently throughout the entire winter season that the shelter is open, from approximately 15 October 2024 to 31 March 2025 (exact dates to be determined). Ideally we would love to hear from people who are willing to commit to coming on the same day of the week, every week or every second week.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions--we would love to hear from you! : )
