As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Head of Group Accounting to manage our financial records and ensure compliance with financial regulations, helping us maintain our financial health and support our rapid growth. In this role, you will have full people responsibility over a team of 7 accountants across Aarhus and Copenhagen and be instrumental in developing smooth and efficient accounting practices across our current three markets. With new markets potentially on the horizon, utilizing the latest tech and tools will be critical to improving efficiency while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance.
Just as we aim to educate our Lunar users to make better financial decisions, we are equally dedicated to fostering a strong financial environment and awareness internally at Lunar. In this role, you will be a key player in strengthening the Finance culture by partnering with various stakeholders, ensuring we’re in the best possible shape for current and future adventures.
As our new Head of Group Accounting, you will be part of our Finance function, reporting to Dianna, Finance Director, and be located in our Copenhagen office.

What will you do?

Lead the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities.

Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and accounting standards.

Spearhead IFRS-related topics and considerations

Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.

Conduct internal audits and support external audit activities.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.

5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within the financial services industry.

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
