About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a R&D Software Engineer II supporting Global Design Systems within Corporate R&D. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver software solutions, to help all business units move away from paper based (manual) processes to automated apps. This role will help product development engineers, project managers, and project management office’s scale their business in support of life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission. This role will provide the right candidate with excellent growth potential.
Your responsibilities include:
- Support and successfully contribute to a scrum based agile project team through the following activities: software design and development, rapid prototypes, preparation of specifications, usability studies, efficiency identification, time studies, report preparation, and process/test documentation.
- Supports solutions to a variety of problems of simple scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
- Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
- Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.
- Assist in troubleshooting on new software products/process problems as related to risk management, design, systems engineering, integrations with other systems like Windchill, etc.
- Engages with internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. Uses diplomacy and tact in interactions and problem solving.
- Translates customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
- Works cooperatively with research and development, process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on projects of varying complexity to ensure project success.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor in software engineer, Computer Science or related field.
- 2-5 Years of relevant work experience with BS
- 0-3 Years of relevant work experience with MS
- Experience in Object-Oriented programming
- A strong CS background, preferably BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft Visual Studio, ASP.NET, C#, C++, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), web-based development and development with database
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to the target audience.
- English level desired: 80%+
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience”
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with state-of-the-art software development tools and programming languages
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to research literature and develop software development domain understanding
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
