Product Specialist

Location:
This position is based in Costa Rica with the option to work partially remote.
Scheduling:
This is a full-time, 40 hours a week position. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed.
Position summary:
The Product Specialist plays a key role in the collaboration between the Product team and Sales team. This role supports proactively communicating product knowledge to the sales team. The responsibility of Product Specialist is to manage product training schedules and product expertise. The Product Specialist will work closely with the Product team to develop training structure to support in-depth product knowledge training. The Product Specialist regularly troubleshoots and answers inquiries for the Sales team to support the selling processes. The Product Specialist regularly audits and ensures products are accurate and available. This role will also support the Bespoke Services team during busy season to manage the quoting of custom services. This role requires clear communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to proactively balance high-priority tasks at the same time.
Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to provide insights and mentorship on Europe Express products
  • Develop and manage product training schedule and product expertise assessments
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to understand product questions, issues, and advise product team of new product requests
  • Regularly audit product portfolio to ensure products are active, accurate, and available
  • Support the Custom Services team during the busy season to ensure customized requests are processed efficiently.
  • Build packages (air, rail, transfers, hotels, sightseeing) within reservation system to including upgrades and optional services
  • Competitively price packages and services following company guidelines
  • Demonstrate independent decision-making ability while understanding the contract agreements and commercial implications, communicate appropriately to manager
  • Provide excellent support and information to all co-workers
  • Provide support to other Product department staff as required
  • Participate in projects and/or meetings or other duties as designated by management
Qualifications:
  • Minimum education requires a Bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism, Business, Hospitality Management, International relations or similar field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Travel and Tourism or similar field a plus
  • Self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Excellent communication skills, presenting information and ideas professionally with clarity & confidence, while being open, honest & objective
  • Proficient in using MS Office products, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experience with Softrip is preferred.
  • Flexibility, demonstrating the ability to adapt to new situations and moving goals
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Business is conducted in English.
