Uptalent.io is seeking a Country Manager in Costa Rica for one of their key clients: A leading company specializing in custom bearings and power transmission solutions, offering a comprehensive range of engineering services and products for heavy industry, including design, manufacturing, distribution, operation, and maintenance. This position will play a pivotal role in overseeing both operational efficiency and commercial success. The occupant will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, optimizing processes, and driving revenue growth through effective commercial strategies.
Operational Management:
Oversee all aspects of workshop operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, quality control, and safety compliance.
Implement efficient workflows and procedures to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
Lead and mentor a team of technicians and production staff to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Commercial Strategy:
Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to drive sales growth and expand market share.
Identify new business opportunities and forge strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the power transmission and wind energy sectors.
Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized solutions for clients and ensure customer satisfaction.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform business decisions and product development efforts.
Project Management:
Coordinate project execution from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Work closely with engineering and technical teams to ensure seamless project implementation and client satisfaction.
Manage project risks and mitigate potential obstacles to ensure successful outcomes.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Monitor revenue streams, expenses, and profitability metrics to achieve financial targets.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-control measures without compromising quality or safety standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications governing the power transmission and renewable energy industries in Costa Rica and other Central-American countries.
Stay abreast of changes in legislation and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and risk mitigation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related is mandatory.
Over 10 years of experiences in the following:
Operations management and commercial leadership roles, preferably in the power transmission or renewable energy sector.
5 to 10 years of experience in the following:
Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of power transmission systems, wind energy technology, and related manufacturing processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with experience overseeing complex projects from conception to delivery.
Sound understanding of financial principles and experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing the power transmission and renewable energy sectors in Costa Rica.
