About Jacinth-Ambrosia
Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world’s largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed-use regional reserve – the Yellabina Regional Reserve – in South Australia, with the operation demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel.
About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join our Jacinth-Ambrosia team.
The Maintenance Coordinator plays a crucial role in leading a team of skilled mechanical and electrical technicians to ensure the safe execution of maintenance activities and to maximise plant availability.
This is a site-based permanent Fly-in, Fly out (FIFO) role consisting of an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, with travel from either Adelaide or Ceduna provided.
Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Engineering and Facilities Manager, the main responsibilities of this role include:
- Planning and organising work, distributing tasks to the team, overseeing work progress, and monitoring performance
- Collaborating with managers and other supervisors to promote and achieve the overall objectives of the mine
- Ensuring all preventative maintenance schedules and planned shutdowns are met in a timely manner
- Preparing monthly maintenance reports, including financial analysis, team performance, cost reductions, usage rates, and plant availability
- Contributing to maintenance budgets and forecasts
- Providing problem-solving for any maintenance or technical issues related to plant and equipment
- Building teams, motivating individuals, and solving problems to ensure optimal delivery against performance and safety targets
- Managing maintenance contractors as required
- Managing maintenance personnel working night shifts
- Carrying out activities in compliance with statutory requirements and company environment, health & safety policies, while facilitating and promoting compliance among Iluka and contract personnel
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Trade background with experience in mining or related environment
- Proven experience in a leadership position, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage teams, drive performance, and foster a positive and productive work environment
- Experience maintaining industrial, mining, and/or mineral processing equipment
- Extensive technical knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling techniques
- Ability to diagnose problems and identify innovative solutions, resulting in alternative outcomes
- An impeccable safety record and strong commitment toward safety
- Excellent computer, interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with contractor management
- Excellent knowledge of online maintenance management tools
- Valid “C” class valid driver’s licence
