Location: Bogota, Colombia (Hybrid, In-Office: Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Scope: CIPE is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist based in Bogota, Colombia. This is a new role and will work in collaboration with CIPE’s Colombia Country Team, which includes a locally-based LAC Communications Officer, in close contact with the Washington DC-based Communications Department. The Colombia Communication Specialist will support a variety tasks related to regional program activities, with a focus on supporting the creation and dissemination of communications materials and products. Core duties include events support, social media writing and graphics, staff presentations, and other collateral for both internal and external use. For this position, solid writing skills and practical knowledge in graphic and audiovisual design are required. Responsibilities:
Collaborate daily with Colombia office program teams, including the Communications Officer, and Washington colleagues to coordinate external and internal communications requests in accordance with organizational guidelines on branding, messaging, and intellectual property.
Support the creation of polished local and regional-level deliverables to highlight key activities and program results. Among them: reports, presentations, invitations, flyers, and day-to-day social media graphics.
Work with managers, vendors, and partners to support coordination and execution of CIPE events and related materials.
Support recording and editing of short videos of program activities for distribution on a variety of platforms.
Write or assist social media posts and website articles about CIPE program impact and partner activities.
Assist managers with the identification of opportunities for engagement or outreach to outlets and influencers that may share CIPE resources and program information, including potential media coverage.
Provide information and elements for use in press releases and other content to the Communications Officer and colleagues at headquarters.
Help with the development of regional social media campaigns and asset creation or collection, including photos and day-to-day graphics.
Help track and analyze content performance and metrics for sharing with managers and headquarters.
Other projects or duties may be assigned as necessary, including media file organization and proof-reading communications materials.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Information Sciences, Graphic Design, and/or Advertising.
Experience: Two years of proven work experience in international cooperation agencies or external communication roles.
Solid writing skills and demonstrated experience making day-to-day graphics or short videos.
Languages: Professional fluency in Spanish and English (B2), both written and spoken.
Platforms: Demonstrated and strong use of Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word), as well as design and video software such as Canva and Adobe Suite (Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design).
Experience with media file management and intellectual property protections for digital products and editorial content.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proactive and creative problem solver.
