We are currently seeking a Wind Turbine Service Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you will utilize your mechanical and electrical expertise to perform critical maintenance activities and fault analysis/troubleshooting. Working alongside a team of 2-3 technicians, you can expect to carry out scheduled services, troubleshooting, component replacement/repair, torque and tensioning, and general maintenance in confined spaces and at heights. Our technicians strictly adhere to established safety procedures and protocols. As a Wind Service Technician at Skycrest, you will demonstrate elite-level expertise, working on challenging and complex problems. This position offers the opportunity for overtime and involves travel to wind farms across Canada, with approximately 90% of the year spent on-site.
Requirements:
Commitment to prioritizing safety in all actions
Proficient in reading and writing English
2 years of previous experience in the wind industry
High school diploma or equivalent
Clean criminal record
Valid Class 5 driver's license and a suitable driving record
Meet weight limits, not exceeding 300 lbs including equipment and PPE
Ability to climb up to 125 meters daily
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs)
Adaptability to work in various environmental conditions and temperatures
Comfortable working in remote locations with limited supervision
Willingness to travel up to 90% of the year to remote wind farm sites
College diploma from a Renewable Energy or Wind Technical Program (an asset)
Electrical Journeyman Certificate (an asset)
Millwright Journeyman Certificate (an asset)
Valid GWO certificate (an asset)
Valid Working at Heights certificate (an asset)
Valid First Aid & CPR certificate (an asset)
Valid Confined Space Entry Certificate (an asset)
Valid Fire Awareness certificate (an asset)
Valid WHMIS Certificate (an asset)
Knowledge in the creation and implementation of LOTO programs (an asset)
Knowledge of safe crane and rigging practices (an asset)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
