Veterinary Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our veterinary staff in providing quality care to animals and support the smooth operation of the veterinary clinic.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Handle and restrain animals during treatment
- Perform basic laboratory procedures such as blood tests and urinalysis
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and surgical areas
- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
- Educate pet owners on basic animal care and procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues
- Willingness to learn new skills and procedures
- Certification or training in veterinary assistance is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
