Summary Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Hauling Operator(s) will be responsible for operating an Articulated Rock Truck in a safe and responsible manner. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist with the operational integrity of the Mining department as required; to achieve safety, environmental, quality, costs, production and continuous improvement targets
Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports
Report unsafe mechanical conditions to a supervisor
Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment
Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions
Skills & Experience
2 or more years experience running heavy equipment or operating a haul truck is preferable
Attention and compliance to established safety rules and guidelines is paramount
Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions encountered during a shift
Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
Strong leadership/team skills and the ability to work independently as required
Experience in an open pit mining environment is an asset
Valid Canadian Drivers License and clear driver's abstract required
Working Conditions
Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 work schedule, 12 hours per day
Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
Exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region
