Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Site Access Coordinator to join our team! In this role you will get to coordinate the simultaneous activities of many diverse contractor groups working at the Faro Mine Remediation Project.
This position requires you to travel to site on a 2 week on/2 week off rotation or reside in the Town of Faro.
What You’ll Be Doing:
We are looking for applicants with experience overseeing northern active construction or remediation projects. person should be highly organized and detail-oriented with a sound understanding of industrial health & safety and environmental protection requirements form active project sites. The Site Access Coordinator would have responsibility for requesting complete and appropriate submittal documentation directly from 3rd party contractors and others requesting site access. They would also have the responsibility to stop work and direct 3rd party contractors and personnel to comply with regulations and site policies. Lastly, he or she will need to possess a valid Frontline Supervisor Certification for the Yukon Territory.
- Coordination with other project stakeholders in the review and approval of all required site-access submittal documentation for Canada work programs and tours.
- Assist in creating a web-based Site Access process/tools for subcontractors and for visitors.
- Ensure proposed work sites are pre-inspected for readiness, identified hazards are mitigated prior to the commencement of work, and that necessary permits have been obtained.
- Working with the H&S Manager to ensure site orientations have been conducted and that a kickoff meeting takes place prior to the commencement of work.
- Coordinate work scope activities with appropriate stakeholders where there is potential overlap of work activities and potential synergies.
- Provide managerial oversight for all Canada sponsored 3rd party work programs and other external parties granted access to site.
- Diligently support the communication of hazards to all personnel on site.
- Working with MCM Health & Safety and Environment teams, audit the outputs of 3rd parties against committed deliverables identified in submittal documentation.
- Prior to demobilization, audit work areas for completeness and ensure any identified issues are addressed in a timely fashion.
- Plan and coordinate with internal Parsons resources where their support may be required to assist 3rd parties in support of their work.
- Participate in meetings related to 3rd party work scopes.
- Where required, liaise with Canada’s 3rd party consultants when pre-scoping potential future work.
- Ensure all 3rd Parties adhere to site access and radio protocols.
- Periodically perform audits of 3rd Parties for compliance and adherence to FMC policies and procedures, quality of completed daily FLRA and JHA’s, the 3rd Parties PSHEP and EPP.
- Ensures all 3rd Party incidents are immediately reported and investigated in a timely fashion.
- Assist other Parsons departments (H&S, Environment, C&M Frontline Supervisors) with risk management coaching and mentoring of new staff in the field.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in contractor management and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in open pit mining.
- College degree, trade certificate or equivalent experience in related field (business, project management, civil/mining engineering).
- Proven ability to manage complexity, multitasking, holding people to account, and problem solving, in an industrial and/or civil environment.
- Strong reading comprehension and professional writing skills.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely annual and monthly reports.
- Skills communicating with contractors, the client, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of drilling, excavating and the administration of work permits.
- Front Line Supervisor training.
