What You’ll Do
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading of material to reduce damage to minimal levels.
- Balancing the loads and loading of the transport vehicles. Unloading of transport vehicles. All in a safe manner.
- Read, understand, and follow all Safe Work Practices for machinery and equipment.
- Working with the production team in balancing the shipment schedule with the plant output.
- Coordinating the necessary export documents, and invoicing.
- Processing paperwork for incoming goods.
- Manage the bar code protocol for all profiles.
- Providing positive and effective customer service support to management.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills demonstrated by leading by example.
- Ability to operate forklift expertly.
- Ability to load and unload materials of transport vehicles.
- Understand company safety regulations and relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
- Understanding machine processes, paperwork systems, and quality standards within the plant.
- Demonstrated problem solving, and priority management capabilities.
- Effective communication ability for General Production, Operators, Management, customers, and contractors.
- Proactivity, creativity, and initiative for continuous improvement to the business processes.
- Ability to organize in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

What it's like at Metrie
- Safety. Your safety is important to us. We want you to leave the day, the same way you came in. Continuous training with all warehouse personnel for both Safety and Operational excellence. Measure critical safety metrics on a monthly basis, identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
- Surroundings. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and mobile carts.
- Activity. Some activities may require operating machinery, constant walking, repetitive lifting, and using a handheld scanner.
- Temperature. Warehouse in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Noise level. Can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
- Dress code. Relaxed, with a few requirements regarding PPE. Metrie provides safety shoes, high visibility shirts or vests, eye protection and gloves.
