Sheet Metal Installers and Skilled laborers at Seaspan

MUST HAVE:

• 1+ year of sheet metal/mechanical insulation experience
• STWB and basic PPE
• Able to lift 50lbs+
• Reliable, punctual
• Reliable transportation
• PR in Canada (security clearance)

JOB DUTIES:
Apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g. calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass, armflex) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g. duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).
Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation (e.g. pin welding, wiring, banding, taping) according to the type and shape of surface, whether or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimension, as well as fitting insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings
Install vapour barriers & finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, canvas, PVC or cement.

Seaspan Docks in North Vancouver
Shift: 5:45am-2:15pm Mon-Fri - they have it earlier so you beat all traffic going in and going home.

Wage: $25-$45 depending on level of experience.
