RESIDENTIAL PAINTER

Salary:
$20.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience painting in a commercial setting
Qualifications:

• Experience painting in a commercial setting a strong bonus
• Crack filling experience as a career would be an asset
• Must be able to complete paint jobs within specified timelines
• Must be able to work in an environment where clientele may be present
• Spraying experience (an asset but not required)

Requirements:

• Be bondable and provide a clean criminal record check
• Take responsibility for a set of master keys
• Have a valid driver's license and a licensed vehicle available for work purposes
• Carry own tool box equipped with tools for minor repairs
• Ability to carry heavy pails of paint and work off a step ladder
• Take part in after-hours emergency maintenance on call rotation
• Available to work on turnover weekends, as needed

Summary of Job Duties:

• Calculating the time and materials required to complete the project
• Matching paint colors and finishes
• Preparing job site
• Preparing surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, remove fixtures, stripping wallpaper, outlet covers, etc.)
• Repair work - inspect and complete minor repairs, report major repairs
• Crack filling:

- drywall repairs - big holes, sheetrock repairs, plaster crack, small holes
- new construction projects
- plaster repairs
- hollow door repairs
- stipple ceiling repairs

• Priming all new or bare surfaces
• Painting:

-Edge, cut in and roll efficiently
-Walls - eggshell satin (between flat and semi-gloss, hides things), ceilings - flat or stipple
-Trim - semi-gloss latex
-Medicine cabinets, kitchen fans - spray paint
-Cupboards inside and out
-Bathrooms
-Appliances
-Floors (wooden steps)

• Varnishing and Staining:

-Trim
-Cupboards
-Doors

• Clean Up:

- Remove garbage and trash
-Sweep and/or vacuum up any debris
-Report any deep cleaning needed
-Maintain trays, brushes, tarps and other equipment
-Replace light shades and outlet covers
