Job Summary
To assist with research activities within the NINET Lab, Department of Psychiatry at UBC Hospital.
Organizational Status
The Research Assistant reports to the NINET director and Research Coordinator; interacts with other NINET staff, and with other departments within UBC as necessary.
Work Performed

Assisting with preparation and data collection in neurostimulation studies (i.e. electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS),

Assisting with preparation and data collection of neurophysiology studies (i.e. EEG, NIRS, TMS-EEG-EMG).

Scoring patient and clinician rating scales (tallying scores, checking completion);

Assisting in the preparation of study-related materials (consents, ethics, information sheets);

Performing literature reviews online or in the library;

Attend conference calls and communicate with collaborating centers;

Completing general office work, and assisting other NINET staff as needed.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Errors in judgment or performance would result in significant consequences on the outcome of research studies and impact the opportunities for future funding and projects.
Supervision Received
Direct supervision by the NINET director; general supervision by NINET staff.

Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with clinical psychiatric populations preferred. - Demonstrated experience with computers and computer software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, REDCap; online literature databases (Pub Med, etc.);

Effective skills in oral and written communication, interpersonal communication, and organization;

Ability to work within a team environment and follow detailed directions.
