Are you passionate about empowering individuals to overcome reading difficulties? Do you believe in the power of personalized education? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for dedicated individuals to join us as Barton Reading Tutors.
As a Barton Reading Tutor, you'll work one-on-one with children, youth, and adults, helping them improve their reading, writing, and spelling skills. Using the internationally recognized Barton Reading and Writing System, based on the Orton-Gillingham approach, you will break down the fundamentals of reading and spelling for learners. Our multisensory approach engages all senses – visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic – ensuring a holistic learning experience for individuals with reading difficulties or disabilities.
Qualifications:

• Engaging with students who experience difficulties in reading and spelling necessitates proficiency in speaking, reading, and spelling in the English language.
• Post-secondary education with a focus on English literature, psychology, or education is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience and additional skills will also be considered.
• Previous tutoring experience is a plus.
• Successful completion of child and adult registry checks prior to tutoring is mandatory.

Part-time positions available. 7 – 25 hours per week.
