Plains currently is looking to fill a Rail Loader vacancy at our Dewdney Terminal near Regina, SK. As a member of the Regina Operations Team, your duties will include, but are not limited to, performing daily railcar loading activities at the Dewdney Terminal in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
This is a position that requires shift work on a rotating, 12-hour basis. Overtime is expected.
Permanent residency within 120 km of the Dewdney Terminal is a condition of employment and preference will be given to local candidates.

Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to safety standards in accordance with company policy and legislated requirements.
Verify railcar numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate placement of cars.
Connect, disconnect, gauge, and seal LPG railcars as the loading process requires.
Perform railyard switching operations required to position railcars at various stages of the operation.
Interact with CP and Plains staff regarding receipt, inspection, and shipment of railcars.
Perform mechanical troubleshooting for respective loading equipment; perform pump and valve maintenance.
Perform safety system testing and periodic inspection/calibration of equipment.
Understand the flow rates of product in conjunction with car loading and movement to meet daily loading requirements.
Provide project support as required based on trade qualifications.
Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 education
Successful completion of online skills test
Certified Interprovincial Journeyperson—Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Electrician, and/or Instrumentation and Control Technician considered an asset
Power engineering certification considered an asset
1–3 years of previous loading or rail operations experience preferred but not required.
Able to read and interpret P&IDs considered an asset
Able to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs / ladders / work at heights, and work outside in inclement weather conditions
Strong safety orientation
Able to confidently and accurately calculate figures and amounts related to proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
Cleared pre-employment rail medical fit test
Compliance with the #Plains drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing
