The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Zone Director, Interprofessional Practice and Learning; the Professional Practice Leader (PPL) facilitates and advances excellence in quality person centred care and practice through the integration of a variety of services aimed at supporting and enhancing professional practice. The PPL will be work closely with the Access and Flow network, other provincial networks and programs, and zonal operations teams. The PPL will support a variety of initiatives and programs in acute and community settings and will work closely with operations teams to improve processes and timely access for patients to care by the right provider. The PPL will further support the development of policies and programs, providing advice and support in development and implementation.

This is a provincial role, occasional travel withing the province may be required.

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Health profession education at Master’s level or higher relevant to interprofessional practice and learning required
  • Active practicing licensure and in good standing or eligible for licensure as a health professional in Nova Scotia
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in related health professional discipline with operational or practice leadership experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive leadership experience such as, clinical nurse specialist, Nurse Practitioner, clinical educator or professional practice coordinator
  • Experience in planning and delivering competency-based education and clinical learning programs within a complex, integrated service model in collaboration with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform innovative, flexible and responsive learning and educational programming and quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks applicable to the practice of health professions
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring, developing and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives an organization
  • Experience in initiating, leading and managing organizational change, and complex work
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with ability to interpret program evaluation data to inform quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
  • Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that nurture equity, diversity and inclusivity with a focus on intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege
  • Experience in human resource management related to scope of practice, scope of employment, and within the legislative framework for health professionals
  • Experience in innovative curriculum development and design

Hours
Permanent Full-Time: 75 hours Bi-weekly.
Compensation and Benefits
$45.45 - $60.39 hourly
$88,629 - $117,7613 annually
