What You’ll Do
As the Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting Newfoundland Operations, including the emulsion plant, magazine sites, bulk truck operations, etc. This is a working Lead/Supervisory position with a "roll-up your sleeves' mind set in order to get involved on a daily basis with operations. You will be based out of our Corner Brook office. Other duties will include:
- Coordinate bulk loading operations (Scheduling, logistics, etc.).
- Own and Implement Dyno Nobel Safety programs and procedures.
- Asset and support Dyno Nobel’s maintenance program and objectives
- Compile data and complete monthly reporting as directed.
- Communicate all relevant information to frontline employees, this including a review of the hazard assessment, participating and facilitating toolbox meetings, providing clear direction to employees.
- Ensure that all equipment to be used in that operation is in good operating condition.
- Ensure that all regulations, both federally (TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially adhered to within the operation with regards to personnel workings, product storage, and product transportation.
- Ensuring that company policies, safe work practices, hazard analysis, and standard operating procedures are up-to-date and followed by the employees.
- Support Inventory management for Class 1 magazines within the Region.
- Interacted with customers as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Post-secondary education related to Blasting, Mining, Mineral resources, process safety/engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing will be considered an asset.
- Experience in a supervisor/leadership role will be considered an asset.
- Must have good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SAP also an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the terminology related to the field in the form of verbal and written reports.
- A positive professional and courteous attitude is an asset when dealing with customers, employees, and management.
- Good physical condition is required with the ability to repeatedly handle 20-kilogram units.
- Clean driving record, use of respirator, pass Drug and Alcohol Test, pass Miners Medical, obtain security clearance (background check) for handling explosives.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% across Newfoundland.
