Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in project planning and scheduling, ordering and purchasing of project supplies, onsite project review for pre and post construction phases. You will work directly with a Project Manager from the sale of a project, throughout execution to completion. Daily tasks may include but are not limited to maintaining customer relationships throughout the project, assist in managing permit and inspection with MB Hydro and ITSM, assist in managing QA, safety requirements and other clerical requests.


Responsibilities:

  • Project planning & scheduling.
  • Maintaining customer relationships.
  • Permit and inspections with MB Hydro and ITSM.
  • Purchasing materials & coordinator orders from RFQ to on-site delivery.
  • Onsite construction reviews throughout the project.
  • Effectively communicate and assist in guiding projects through all phases of construction.
  • Review and analyze customer quote requirements to provide equipment quotations that meet defined customer requirements.
  • Analyze, manage, communicate, and mitigate risks from quote to delivery
  • Review quotes/projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Validate/Audit Project/Quotes are accurate and meet/exceed target margin expectations for respective markets/regions.
  • Coordinate with appropriate functions for order fulfillment and project delivery.
  • Participate and contribute to internal business development projects.
  • Maintain file organization structure, participate in developing and maintaining project task boards and Share Point sites.
  • Coordinate and Process shop drawings and for on-site action.
  • Record field change on As-Builts, which includes site directions, notices and extra work.
  • Set up and maintain site project filing system.
  • Ensure the contract documents (drawings and specs) in use on the project are the latest version.
  • Keep project documents up-to-date and completing record drawings.
  • Coordinate and assist with information distribution to subcontractor and own forces.
  • Monitor the Quality Plan and conducting site quality reviews.
  • Update schedule weekly with Project Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Post Secondary education in a related field with ambition to pursuit or currently pursuing applicable designations/certifications.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the construction or mechanical industry considered an asset along with self-directed continued education.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in scheduling, cost control/supply chain coordination considered an asset.
  • MS Office Proficiency (Word/Excel/Power Point/Teams).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional Time Management/Multi-Tasking.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive & grow in a continuously evolving environment
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and maintenance an asset.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license & reliability vehicle.
  • Must be able to complete a background check as requested for clearance requirements.
