About Ocean Steel
Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel’s two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints
Operation of the steel fabrication equipment: band saws, CNC punches, shears, CNC drill and burning machines
Lift or move steel materials into position using overhead cranes
Clean and maintain work space
Requirements
1 to 3 years experience in steel fabrication environment considered an asset
Flexibility to work night shift on rotations
Completion of high school
CSA approved steel toe boots
