Strasbourg & District Health Centre is seeking a qualified LPN to join our team in a casual lab position.
Wage based on experience.

Your responsibilities will include:
Greet and request required information from patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection
Perform phlebotomies & special test collections
Maintain client relationships, including responding to inquiries and following up on requests
Complete data entry of required patient demographics, requisition information, and other information related to processing test results
Prepare specimens for transportation and testing
Ensure the lab is clean, safe and organized
Conducting safe lab practices
Supporting and assisting clinic staff and providers
Performing other related duties as assigned
What you will bring to the role:
A Practical Nursing diploma
Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan
A minimum of 2 years nursing experience
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills
Strong customer service with the ability to relate to patients even in stressful situations
The ability to respond and adapt to change while using your problem solving skills, empathy & flexibility to most appropriately and effectively support each patient
The skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse patient population
Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of team
The ability to work independently
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
Phlebotomy experience
IV experience
Experience with Picc care and blood draws from a Picc line
Experience in advanced wound care
Compression bandage certificate
EMR experience
