An opportunity exists to engage in a diverse and high quality 0.2FTE Locum contracted General Surgery Practice in the NE area of Saskatchewan. We are a seeking a locum to cover one or two weekends per month, Friday, 0700 to Monday, 0700. The Victoria Hospital serves a population of approximately 45,000 and is a referral center for the whole of Northern Saskatchewan. Other surgical services include, General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology. There is functional 8-bed intensive care unit. The program is complimented with a high quality anesthesiology program and a day surgery unit, which has extended hours for patient recovery.
The successful candidate will join our team to provide comprehensive general surgery services to the patients of North East Saskatchewan, based out of Prince Albert.
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Surgery. Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS). Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family-centered care. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens or those who have Permanent Landed Resident status.
