Are you an engineer or technician with experience in ILS Engineering (Integrated Logistics Support), RAMS Engineering (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety), or technical publications and maintenance manuals? Our team at Sonovision is looking for candidates to strengthen its team in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, in life cycle support and technical documentation projects. Although previous experience is not required, we are ideally looking for individuals with knowledge in RAMS, ILS, authoring activities for technical maintenance and operation publications, or design and manufacturing of systems and structures. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will carry out activities within the framework of IPS (Integrated Product Support) and Technical Data projects for military systems. Your role will involve ILS studies (configuration, reliability, maintainability, availability, life cycle cost, etc.) or the writing of technical instructions and maintenance and repair processes. The tasks to be performed include:
Development of studies on:
Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), including recording and software support activities
Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis
Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) analysis
Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
System Safety - Hazardous materials, functional hazards assessments, and fault tree analysis.
Human Engineering Design Approach Documents - Operator/Maintainer (HEDAD-O, HEDAD- M)
Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T)
Optimization of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and obsolescence management
Application of various methodologies and standards (S-Series - S1000D/S2000M/S3000L, MIL-STD 1388, MSG3, others) to legacy systems
Creation of Technical Data (TD) content and maintenance information according to the technical specifications defined in the project and applicable regulations
Ensuring compliance with the Quality requirements demanded by the client and the quality of the deliverables for which you are responsible
Meeting production requirements and delivery milestones in project authoring, ensuring traceability of each task
Participation in the continuous improvement process of production, reporting and analyzing non-conformities, and attending production follow-up meetings
We are looking for candidates with some of the following characteristics:
Degree in Engineering or based on relevant experience, preferably in naval and defence industry, or related fields
Knowledge in systems and/or structures, maintenance, operation, in-service support, or other disciplines
Understanding of electrical and mechanical diagrams, and analysis of applicable technical documentation (modifications, service bulletins, RFC/IRFCs, etc.)
Previous experience in using or drafting technical documentation, maintenance manuals, operation, service bulletins, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft tolos, PTC Windchill and Isograpj or other related modelling software
Additionally, the following skills will be valued:
Knowledge of XML language
Handling of digital models and technical documentation
Basic knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
Ability to integrate and work in a team
