Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position requires a proactive approach to talent acquisition, employee relations, and change management, contributing to the overall success of our organization.
Duties
Provide support to management to ensure they have the tools to support their team.
Manage full-cycle recruitment activities for Swiss Water and Seaforth:
Interpret Collective Agreement when required.
Coordinate annual salary benchmarking and salary review process.
Administer benefits program and communicate plans to employees.
Administer and review bi-weekly payroll processing using ADP for salary and union employees.
Complete month-end accruals for Swiss Water and Seaforth.
Maintain employee records for time tracking, vacation, illness, expenses, leaves of absence, etc.
Maintain all employee files and payroll records.
Spearheaded social committee to increase employee engagement and opportunities for cross-department interactions.
Spread awareness of different cultural celebrations, awareness days, celebrations, and/or observances.
Oversee the Human Resources staff function budget every year.
Create marketing material to promote events.
Lead 30-60-90 day performance reviews for new hires.
Manage HR Manual to ensure it is updated with all new processes and procedures.
Create standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure organizational charts are up-to-date with new hires and terminations/resignations.
Complete month-end accruals for Swiss Water and Seaforth.
Ensure Human Resources Policies and Procedures are up-to-date.
Skills
Strong knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
Proficiency in using HR software systems including ATS platforms like Bamboo HR and ADP
Excellent administrative skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of change management processes and best practices.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
CPHR candidate or designation would be an asset
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR generalist role
Minimum of 1 year of working in a unionized environment
Experience in providing constructive feedback
Experience in administering and managing benefits
Experience with payroll (ADP and Payworks)
Union & non-union experience is preferred
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in the utilization of Microsoft Office
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Additional pay:
