Position: Grant Writer Wage: $26.00/hr, 40 hours per week, plus benefits package Reporting Relationship: Director of Operations

The Grant Writer will be part of a growing team responsible for the ongoing success of BGC Prince County by ensuring quality and innovative programs are being offered to children and youth. This is done by coordinating planning and organizing programs, seeking funding opportunities and preparing funding proposals. This role will work in collaboration with leaders from both our Program and Finance teams.
Key Position Objectives:
I. Program Planning
The goal is to assist staff in creating and implementing Club programs and ensure established programs comply with BGC Canada Operating Standards.
This will be achieved by:
Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
Creating an evaluation framework to assess program activities, including mid-term and post-program evaluations and feedback from parents and Club members.
Developing new initiatives to support the strategic direction of BGC Prince County.
II. Program Funding
The overall goal is to research funding opportunities, write proposals, and apply for grants that will support the programming offered by the Club.
This will be achieved by:
Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations, government bodies, and other grant-making organizations.
Engaging with clients and stakeholders to build community support and gather input for program improvement.
Communicating with funders as outlined in funding agreements.
III. Administration
Ensure BGC Operating Standards are being adhered to within the department.
Program reporting and grants reporting, including financial, impact, and progress reports.
Participate in program-related training calls, webinars, and meetings.
IV. Additional Duties and Requirements
Special projects and additional responsibilities as determined by your supervisor.
Work closely with community groups as needed.
Promote and advertise the Club to the community at large, e.g., open houses, school events.
Demonstrate a proactive work ethic and strong decision-making abilities.
Ability to communicate professionally and implement policies and procedures.
Ability to show initiative within programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
V. Qualifications
Experience in fund development and grant writing; specific experience with government, corporate, and community grants is an asset.
Degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed.
