Structural Truss Systems specializes in the design, manufacturing, and transportation of custom roof trusses, floor systems, and wall panels for every size of residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. We operate out of over 38,000 square feet of manufacturing facility in Fort Mac Leod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge, AB.
This role is suitable for builders/general laborer's with experience in manufacturing or construction! Your role as the Builder/General Laborer will be to assemble building material components for our wall panel production as well production within the shop. Processes include positioning of materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts and use of both hand and power tools in a Manufacturing shop environment as well as construction.
We are currently looking to hire the following position in our Structural Truss Systems facility.
Role: Builder/General Laborer (Wall Shop)
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shift: Day Shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the manufacturing assembly process by reading and understanding work orders and drawings and gather necessary materials and tools to complete the order.
- Ensure the assembled items meet specific quality specifications.
- Plan and pace work efficiency to meet daily, weekly and team related production goals.
- Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attend weekly tailgate meetings; make recommended changes to improve safety procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with company policies.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by Supervision.
- Reports directly to the Lead Hand of the working area.
Key Requirements:
- This role is situated indoors of a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8–10-hour shifts).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to use hands to grasp, handle and feel.
- Frequent stooping, bending, and stretching.
- CSA work boots are REQUIRED while on the manufacturing floor as well as area designated PPE (earplugs, safety glasses, hi-vis vest etc.)
- Familiarity with hand tools and ability to read a tape measure would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have the ability to be alert while operating machinery.
- Must be able to read and write English.
Please note: You must have CSA approved work boots, as they are REQUIRED when on the manufacturing floor.
