Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of families in need? Prairie Harm Reduction's Family Support Program is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Full-Time Family Support Workers. We provide crucial community and in-home support to families at high risk of apprehension and involvement with the Ministry of Social Services.
Full Time Staff work a rotating schedule that offers variety, with one week Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and the next week Monday to Friday 4pm-12am. Plus, work one weekend every six weeks.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support within family homes, navigating high-risk situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Respond swiftly to emergent needs identified by families, community partners, and the Ministry of Social Services.
• Assist parents in accessing vital services and navigating potentially threatening situations.
• Develop creative, sustainable, and attainable safety plans.
• Mentor parents and caregivers on healthy parenting and coping skills.
• Help families identify and connect with potential support networks and professional resources.
• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure follow-through on appointments and commitments.

Preferred Skills & Education:

• Must agree to a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons Check and possess a valid Driver's License.
• Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or post-secondary education in a related human services field, or a combination of relevant work and life experience.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Strong understanding of Harm Reduction and Trauma-Informed Care practices.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with families.
• Knowledge of substance use and its impact on parenting.
• Familiarity with community services and agencies in Saskatoon.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.75 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
