Food and Beverage Associate (Full-Time) Reporting to the Culinary Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for preparing/delivering a high-quality product/service while performing the setup, preparation, serving and clean up associated with all meal offerings and catering services. Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Fulfills the duties and responsibilities of a Food and Beverage Associate with a pleasant demeanour focusing on upholding excellent customer service, recognizing the importance of maintaining these ongoing relationships with all our clients, inclusive of residents, families, guests, volunteers and staff.
Serves our clients in a dining room setting in a professional and courteous manner.
Performs all duties within the role of Food & Beverage Associate in all dining rooms, servery, soups and salads, food preparation, dish room, receiving and snack cart while working collaboratively with the team to meet the needs of the residents.
Performs preparation, setup, and serving of various offerings such as beverages, desserts and food & supplies for snack carts.
Responsible for making, preparing and serving various food offerings such as soups, salads, sandwiches and cold plates as required.
Assists with meal deliveries and serving meals to residents and guests on all floors.
Sets and clears dining tables, and assists with cleaning of dishware and cutlery in the dish room, and maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and bistro as required.
Ensures all kitchen equipment is fully functional and all equipment/supplies/storage and preparation areas are used, cleaned, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner on a daily basis, as per the manufacturers’ instructions.
Assists with inventory count and stock/receiving deliveries.
Responsible for and assists with catering functions (setup, serving food and/or bar, breakdown and cleanup) and actively participates in special occasions and theme events. Assists with orientation/training of new staff.
Assists with cleaning/scrubbing of chairs on a daily basis.
Performs other related/assigned duties as required to meet the needs of residents.
Qualifications: Abilities and Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral English.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills in working with residents, families, the Tiffany Village Retirement Residence Partnership team, as well as the general public.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in ability to treat residents with respect, dignity and care.
Demonstrated proficiency in ability to resolve contentious or sensitive issues, or situations requiring conflict resolution.

Experience, Training/Education and Work Record:
High school diploma.
1-3 years’ previous work experience in food & beverage or other related field.
Previous experience in the field of seniors’ living/care is preferred.
Successfully meets the necessary employee requirements as stipulated in the operational standards by the Department of Health & Community Services governing agencies with home support licenses.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Knowledge of WHMIS and the importance of complying with same.
Knowledgeable of the importance of and ability to comply with Safe Food Handling Practices, Safe Work Practices, National Sanitation Code, and Texture and Therapeutic Standards/Guidelines.
Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide.
It’s Good Business Responsible Alcohol Service Certification would be considered an asset.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work will be scheduled for a minimum of 75 hours bi-weekly
Hours of work may vary from week to week in order to maintain a flexible environment to meet the needs of our residents.
Hours will include daytime, evening, weekend and holiday coverage, as required.
Rate of Pay:
$16.91 per hour as per the current Collective Agreement
