Employee Wellness Coordinator

SUMMARY – Employee Wellness Coordinator (Workers Compensation, LTD, Disability Management and Corporate Wellness)
Shift: M-F 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Location; 2595 Inkster Blvd. Winnipeg ,MB
Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Settlements the Employee Wellness Coordinator will oversee the employee wellness program and occupational and non-occupational claims, including WSIB/WCB/CNESST, medical leaves of absence, Long-Term Disability (LTD), return-to-work planning, and accommodations in all locations across Canada and the United States. They will also oversee reporting and will work with internal partners to analyze trends in occupational illness/injury to develop programs to support the wellness of Trans X employees.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Workers Compensation

  • Manage the full cycle of WSIB/WCB claims, including reporting, documentation, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all WSIB/WCB claims, maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Liaise with employees, managers, and healthcare providers to gather and assess necessary information for WSIB/WCB claims.
  • Communicate updates on claim status and resolution to WSIB/WCB and all relevant stakeholders..
Leave Management and Return to Work


  • Evaluate employee abilities as per medical documentation or standard medical precautions, identify benefit entitlement, develop return to work (RTW) and/or workplace accommodation plans in cooperation with appropriate parties, provide support and actively monitor the plan in accordance with our client's policies and procedures, Employer’s obligations under provincial workers compensation, Duty to Accommodate under Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Privacy laws, FIPPA, etc., and provincial specific legislation (e.g. AODA).
  • Provide regular updates to a variety of stakeholders (employees, managers, physicians, specialists, providers, etc.) and gather the relevant information allowing the initial and ongoing assessment and management of an employee’s occupational and non-occupational injuries.

Benefit Administration


  • Partner in the annual policy renewal process, including creation and execution of surveys to solicit plan feedback from employees to provide expert advice and guidance on best practices and industry standards to ensure the benefit plan is optimized.
  • Complete accurate and timely administration/processing of employee benefits (activation, terminations, and changes.)
  • Advise and consult with employees on group insurance health benefits, RRSP program, EFAP and other employee benefit programs.
  • Assist plan members (employees) with questions regarding benefits coverage, assistance with claims, etc.
  • Coordinate daily RRSP processes (enrollments, terminations, contribution changes, beneficiaries, etc.)
  • Keep current on external trends and applicable benefits legislation.
  • Create and maintain job aids/SOPs for employee benefits

Workplace Wellness



  • Develop a comprehensive program and suite of tools personal health resources and learning opportunities to support employee wellness with a focus on education and skill building.
  • Champion the EFAP program, advertising the full scope of services provided, to ensure full understanding

Reporting



  • Prepare key performance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends to improve processes, ensure resources are appropriately allocated, maximize efficiency, and enhance employee satisfaction.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Education
  • Recent graduate of, or currently enrolled in a post-secondary business administration and/or HR program.
Skills & Experience
Skills & Experience:
  • Expert knowledge of Provincial Workers Compensation legislation, Provincial Employment Standards Acts and Occupational Health and Safety regulations, Duty to Accommodate, Human Rights Code, Privacy laws, FIPPA, etc.; and provincial-specific legislation (e.g., AODA).
  • Strong understanding of Occupational and Non-Occupational Claims Management, including WSIB/WCB administration, Functional Abilities Forms (FAF), EI Disability processes, and LTD claims management.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and teaching skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of specialized health procedures as they apply to assessment of and primary care for injuries and illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze trends in data, solicit employee feedback, and develop programs/learning opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of leadership and employees
  • Ability to liaise with external agencies, partners, and other organizations.
  • Ability to develop and analyze relevant occupational health and safety statistical data.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues and to protect confidential medical information.
  • Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of various software, including Microsoft Office and HRIS; experience with ADP Workforce Now a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and professional judgment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in either English/French or English/Punjabi
