Brick and Stone Mason

About Us
As the largest siding company in Edmonton, Great Canadian Exteriors takes great pride in our understanding of the construction industry landscape and our successful projects. Our large, skilled workforce is professionally managed, ensuring reliability and consistency in every project we work on.
We are currently looking for a Brick and Stone Mason. The Mason duties include creating structures out of bricks, concrete, and natural stones, and preparing these materials for construction by mixing, cutting, and shaping them. The Brick and Stone Mason will take these materials and install them by following technical drawings or blueprints.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as required.
  • Mix and prepare cement, bricks, and mortar for structures; lay bricks, stones, or concrete blocks in mortar, ensuring they are level and aligned properly.
  • Cut and shape materials until they meet the client’s specifications
  • Set materials according to the design plans, ensuring stability and durability.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the project requirements.
  • Apply finishing techniques, such as cleaning and polishing stone surfaces, and smoothing and sealing joints between bricks.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure the integrity and quality of the masonry work.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures, as well as company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver abstract report is a mandatory requirement.
  • Prior experience in masonry is required.
  • Familiarity with commonly used mason techniques, tools, and materials for construction projects.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Work Location: In person
