We are currently seeking an employee to join our Community Services Department as a Booking Clerk. Reporting to the Manager, Programs, the Booking Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting facility booking and program registration processes, ensuring smooth operations across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities:
Manage facility booking and program registration
Handle incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person in a friendly, professional manner
Address customer concerns and resolve issues, including handling difficult individuals calmly and professionally
Provide excellent customer service to patrons and respond to booking inquiries
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of events and facility usage
Assist in administrative duties as needed, including cash handling and reporting
Qualifications: This position requires a certificate in an Administrative field or equivalent, along with a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience. Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience using booking software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Previous cash handling experience
Familiarity with city recreation facilities
Flexibility to work across various city facilities
The City of Yellowknife offers a salary range of $70,738 - $83,221, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension plan, and monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450.
