Our dynamic team is in search of an Associate, Investments where you'll leverage your analytical skills to uncover exciting investment opportunities and make a real impact in the ever-evolving world of finance.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Assist and lead in the valuation of new acquisitions opportunities in Canada and the US by leading/supporting due diligence and market research for new investments; inclusive of but not limited to evaluating past investments and/or financial performance, purchase terms and economic characteristics of the opportunity.
• Managing the coordination of multiple internal groups within Avenue Living and Mini Mall Storage Properties, throughout the closing process for accepted LOI’s and PSA’s.
• Support the Mini Mall Investment team by underwriting deals, preparing LOI’s and Purchase Agreements for the acquisition of new portfolio assets.
• Performing return calculations and analysis, and cash flow forecasting and budgeting to assist with new financing and refinancing initiatives on portfolio assets and support the annual property valuation process.
• Monitor investments to ensure milestones and underwriting assumptions are achieved and assist in the development of revised investment strategies.
• Responsible for supporting the annual property valuation process and assisting with internal reporting on portfolio assets.
• Accountable for keeping current on economic events, researching market reports and industry news that impact the real estate investment environment.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

• A University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting. Holding or working towards CFA, CAIA, or equivalent professional delegation would be an asset.
• 5+ years of experience with a real estate company, investment bank, private equity, brokerage, or lender firm.
• Strong background in financial modeling.
• Ability to manage time effectively to handle competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools as well as excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Willing to travel within Canada or the US as required.
