Assistant Bakery Team Leader - Lake Country Co-op @ Food Store Nipawin

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full Time Assistant Bakery Team Leader of at our Food Store location in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. If you are looking to use your industry knowledge and leadership skills to take the Bakery Department to the next level, the Lake Country Co-op is looking for you!
What you’ll do:
  • Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach
  • Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels
  • Lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency
  • Assist with effectively managing the development and direction of the reporting team members
  • Assist in overseeing the sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and safe for the department
  • Manage and monitor the store’s inventory, including restocking shelves, ordering new products, and ensuring that popular items are always in stock
  • Oversee and supervise the bakery department staff members, including training and scheduling
  • Ensure that the bakery department is well-organized and visually appealing, with products displayed neatly and in an attractive manner
  • Perform receiving of merchandise, stocking shelves, pricing, building displays, packaging, conducting inventory counts
  • To properly prepare products prior to baking, bake products, to decorate and frost cakes and other baked goods
  • Ensure maintenance on all equipment is completed to schedule; follow all Food Safe and Health and Safety regulations and practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Who you’ll work with: Reporting to the Bakery Team Leader, you will be a key participant in initiating, developing, and executing plans and policies to ensure continued growth in sales, service, and customer satisfaction.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
  • You have a grade 12 or combination of relevant experience; background in the retail bakery industry is considered an asset
  • You have retail experience in a supervisory role; Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) and bakery experience is considered an asset
  • You are well organized, capable of attaining a high level of production, with a minimum amount of supervision
  • You must be able to plan and organize your own work and that of others, supervise others, and delegate to others
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do
  • You are familiar with Food Safe procedures and practices
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
  • You have the ability to fulfill physical job requirements – standing, and performing heavy lifting regularly; extensive manual labour is required
  • You have the ability to work in a fast paced, guest facing environment
  • You have a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
