- Good listener
- Have great written and verbal communication skills in English
- Empathetic and enthusiastic towards students
- Good at engaging with students
- Encourage and help students to be independent learners
- Understanding of the struggles of students and being respectful of them as well
- Diagnose the student’s learning and academic level
- Write and prepare lesson plans ahead of your sessions
- Find creative ways to teach and explain concepts to the students
- Connect and build a relationship with the student to build their motivation and confidence
- Assign homework as needed to help the students perform better
- Submit post-session reports
- Occasionally, we might ask for progress reports with the students

- Completed or currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in English, Science / Engineering in British Columbia
- Available on weekdays from 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM
- Sounds knowledge of Pre-Calculus and Calculus
- Minimum 3 years of tutoring experience in formal or informal setting
- Good academic standing
- Minimum 2 years of formal employment in any field. Customer service experience is a strong asset.
- Able and willing to travel to students’ homes
- Class 5 Driver’s License is an asset
- Willing to submit a Criminal Record Check
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
