Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We combine traditional management consulting with our rich data assets and in-house technology to provide our clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, test-and-learn business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services. While specializing in the payments industry, Mastercard Data & Services also works closely with major retailers, airlines, and other enterprises, leveraging data and insights garnered from within and beyond its network.
Our Strategy & Transformation consultants lead clients through impactful decision-making as they tackle strategic, tactical, operational, and transformational business challenges while our Performance Analytics consultants translate data into insights by leveraging Mastercard and customer data to design, implement, and scale analytical solutions for customers. They use qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and enterprise applications to synthesize analyses into clear recommendations and impactful narratives.
This role is for our Strategy & Transformation track with a specific focus on analyzing Mastercard's data assets for strategic decision making. We are looking for a passionate and talented professional, who shares our vision for data-driven consulting, to join us and take a leading role in shaping the growth of our team. As a Senior Data-driven Strategy Consultant, you will be a trusted client business advisor. You will lead engagement teams to best in class insights and project deliverables. Leading the work of the project Delivery team, you will provide subject matter and industry expertise, be a resource to others to identify creative and efficient solutions and guide the team to business-focused solutions and recommendations that drive client value.

Roles and Responsibilities
Client Impact
- Manage deliverable development and workstreams on projects across a range of industries and problem statements
- Contribute to and/or develop strategies and programs for large, regional, and global clients by leveraging data and technology solutions to unlock client value
- Manage working relationship with client managers, and act as trusted and reliable partner
Team Collaboration & Culture
- Develop sound business recommendations and deliver effective client presentations
- Plan, organize, and structure own work and that of junior project delivery consultants to identify effective analysis structures to address client problems, synthesize analyses into relevant findings, and create impactful storylines
- Lead team and external meetings, and lead or co-lead project management
- Contribute to the firm's intellectual capital and solution development
- Grow from coaching to enable ownership of day-to-day project management across client projects, and mentor junior consultants
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with work experience in consulting, along with data analytics experience in business intelligence and/or descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive analytics.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English AND in Dutch and/ or French
- Experience with managing clients or internal stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and synthesize key findings to provide recommendations based on Mastercard's data assets
- Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using SQL, Python, and/or R
- Logical, structured thinking
- Advanced Word, Excel, and Power Point skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Eligibility to work in the country where you are applying, as well as apply for travel visas as required by travel needs
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Impala, Hive, Pyspark etc.
- Prior exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience managing tasks or workstreams in a collaborative team environment with third parties
- Experience coaching junior delivery consultants
- Relevant industry expertise
- MBA or master’s degree with relevant specialization (not required)
