About the role
As a Process Engineering Manager, you will report to our Corporate Engineering Director and be part of the Group Technical & Manufacturing team. You will be responsible for supporting the continued growth and tackling challenges of tomorrow such as the carbon challenge. Lhoist is seeking a Process Engineering Manager, seasoned professional in Process Design for Industrial Plant with a successful track record with international engineering companies and/or with corporate engineering of an Industrial Group. You will be able to ensure the Process design for major projects from 30 to 150 M€ (international) for both our core process (mining for lime or dolime) and for the innovative carbon capture one (flue gas cleaning, waste water treatment, biomass or alternative fuel preparation, gas transport and terminalling).You will organize, lead or supervise process studies of multiple key industrial projects at Group level from initial concept design to project execution and commissioning while following the CAPEX Stage Gate process in force within the Group. You will also be responsible to apply, roll out and maintain Group standards, while stimulating collaboration and the sharing of best practices across the Group.
Your role and responsibilities :

Participate to the preparation of the Basis of design at the early stage of the Project in collaboration with the Project Manager and his Team.

Provide Process engineering activities and deliverables (H&M balance, PFD, PIDs, process description, utilities,…) related to the CAPEX Projects (from Design phases to Execution one), including the support of commissioning and startup/ramp-up.

Manage the process interfaces and ensure the consistency between our existing production plant and the new facilities.

Work with the Techno Experts during the different Engineering Phases for the validation of the key process points relating to the new CO2 Process&Technology, and the calcination matters.

Participate to the selection of the Engineering companies (in case of outsourcing), Equipment Suppliers and Contractors for the Process aspects.

Check the engineering deliverables (documents and drawings) prepared by the external engineering or Technology providers.

Integrate the Process safety constraints in the design to achieve the project objectives.
About you:

Masters degree in Chemical or Process Engineering

Min. 10 years of engineering experience within an international environment

Ideally in the sector of O&G, Chemical specialty, Energy Industries

Good knowledge of design, engineering, start-up and commissioning of a Process Industrial plants

Basic knowledge of engineering disciplines and Construction

Solid knowledge of process engineering design standards and tools specific to the process industry

Ability to understand, guide and communicate with experienced engineering firms, technology providers and Suppliers

Good communication skills in a multi-cultural environment

Willingness to develop a new organization and to build a robust Team

Autonomy and Decision-making capacity

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Fluency in English, any other language (French or German) is considered as an asset
