Summary
In the Pre-Analytical Phase section, incoming samples of various origins are processed which are then further colored and analyzed in our other units. Your work is thus the basis on which other teams start applying their molecular and immunohistochemical techniques. In addition, research is also done on the different parameters that influence the quality of the samples. You understand that this is a crucial phase in order to produce the best possible analysis results. We work mainly in the context of clinical studies through which we try to make our contribution in the unveiling of the cancer process.
Responsibilities
- Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining utilizing standard protocols and instrumentation
- Differentiation of acceptable / unacceptable staining of control slides
- Process cell pellets and blood samples for advanced testing methodologies
- Accession sample information into a Laboratory Information System
- Retrieve / Store / Ship samples electronically and at appropriate temperature
- Collaborate with internal/external scientists in the troubleshooting of protocols and staining issues
Profile
- Prior laboratory experience is preferred
- Prior experience with microtomy, PBMC isolation, and flow cytometry is a plus
- You are fluent with the computer (Word, Excel) and with a (LIMS) database or you are willing to learn this
- You are communicative and like to work in a team
- You will be working within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), which requires you to work accurately and documented work
- Candidates equivalent in experience will also be considered for this vacancy
- Language skills: DUTCH (very good) ENGLISH (to a limited extent)

Working Conditions
- Temporary, interim contract
- Schedule: Full-time, 38-hours per week, Monday - Friday. Future shiftwork of Tuesday - Saturday.
