Your key activities:
- Develop the Patent department, in alignment with the company's overall business goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of patent attorneys, engineers and paralegals. Ensure continuous professional development and training within the team.
- Analyse client needs and propose innovation and protection strategies
- Carry out patentability and freedom to operate analyses
- Draft and prosecute patent applications, including portfolio management
- Advice and represent clients in relation to IP Disputes
- Develop partnerships with professional associations, incubators, foreign associates…

Participate to scientific and training activities – represent our firm at professional events.
- A qualified European Patent Attorney and preferably a national European patent qualification
- Specialized in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, Physics or Computer Science, although candidates with a different technical background will also be considered
- Experience in an intellectual property firm and/or an in-house patent attorney role
- Experience in patent portfolio management
- Experience in leadership and team management
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English, French and/or Dutch (written and spoken), German is a plus
- Proactive
- Service minded; precise
- A team player but having the ability to take the lead and set direction
- An analytical mind
- Strategic vision
- Ability to adapt
