To strengthen our M&A team, based in Limelette, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Financial Advisory and M&A Analyst.
About the role
As a Financial Advisory and M&A Analyst, you will support the M&A Director in the framework of mergers & acquisitions projects and other transversal strategic projects across the globe. You will mainly be responsible for the financial assessment and risk analysis of new projects, including developing complex financial models and drafting of investment presentations. You will work on various topics: M&A and business development projects in all Lhoist geographies, covering existing and new businesses (lime, limestone, carbon capture, etc.).To achieve that, you will execute valuation & business modelling work under the supervision of the M&A Director.
The position provides the unique opportunity to work for a leading player in the industrial minerals sector within an international environment, training on a daily basis analytical, presentation and communication skills with C-level executives and M&A internal stakeholders.
Your role and responsibilities:

Working with cross-functional teams (i.e. commercial, technical, finance, tax, legal, etc.) elaboration of financial models and building presentations for the management and C-level.

Coordinating external stakeholders (i.e. banks, lawyers, consultants, etc.), ensuring the flow of information during negotiations and consulting assignments.

Performing due diligence tasks (eg. administration of Q&A, maintenance of a repository with all relevant files, follow-up of checklists, challenge of received inputs, listing of key identified risks, etc.)

Setting up complex financial models in Excel and develop ad hoc scenarios.

Supporting expert teams in buildings slide decks and storytelling for project management and Executive Committee decision purposes.

Benchmarking of Lhoist performance versus peers using public filings and ad hoc databases (eg. Bloomberg)

Monitoring of the industry news flow to ensure internal alignment on business intelligence topics

Collaborating on M&A project management and due diligence tasks

Supporting strategic initiatives and transversal projects throughout the Group.
About you:

Master degree (preferably within a business engineering background) complemented with an MBA and/or an additional corporate finance degree

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in audit, consulting, investment banking, corporate M&A or in a similar position.

Understanding of corporate finance, valuation techniques and financial analysis

Professional proficiency in English is must, French is a big plus. Any additional languages considered as an advantage.
