Within our Cell Therapy team in Mont-saint-Guibert (Belgium) there is one position immediately available for an Associate Scientist Cell Line Development (CLD).
You will join an international and dedicated group of scientists, project leaders and laboratory technicians. We have expertise in bioprocess development, stem cell biology, cell-based assays, and GMP manufacturing. The position
As an Associate Scientist in CLD, focusing on i PSC Cell Therapy, your primary role will involve supporting the creation of innovative i PSC lines aimed at advancing the development of groundbreaking hi PSC-based cell therapies. You have a strong background in molecular biology, including genome editing.
You are self-motivated with a strong focus on innovation, and critical thinking, and with experience in a service organization or demonstratable soft skills that are needed for commercial projects. You are a true team-player who enjoys working in close collaboration with colleagues in and out of the laboratory. As part of the job responsibility includes hands-on processes development, the preferred candidate is a motivated researcher with desire to work in a laboratory, including occasional cell maintenance during the weekend.
Responsibilities
- Perform state of the art cell culture techniques in the field of human stem cell maintenance
- Perform in process analyses and cell-based assays for characterization of engineered stem cells
- Support routine lab activities such as stock management, environmental monitoring, cleaning and equipment maintenance
- Collect and record data accurately following standard operating procedures in compliance with Quality Management System
- Write technical documents such as protocols, reports, and operating procedures within the Quality Management System,
- Review technical documents for accuracy and thoroughness
- Propose solutions and participate in investigations whenever needed
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor or Master Degree in (applied) biological science or related domains
- Experience in industry within GMP settings
- Demonstrated practical experience in cell culture techniques is a requirement (such as, maintenance of cell lines, cryopreservation, cell counting, media preparation). Experience with stem cells is a plus
- Experience with CRISPR technology is a plus
- Experience of Flow cytometry and cell sorting is a plus
