Events & Marketing Manager (Hospitality )

Job Overview:
The Events & Marketing Manager in the hospitality industry is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events while also driving marketing initiatives to promote the brand, increase revenue, and enhance the overall guest experience. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and operational expertise to ensure that events are successful and that the property is effectively marketed to target audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Management:
  • Event Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with the hotel’s brand, targets key market segments, and drives revenue.
  • Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute events, including conferences, weddings, corporate meetings, and social gatherings.
  • Budget Management: Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while delivering high-quality experiences.
  • Vendor Management: Source and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure the best quality and pricing.
  • On-site Management: Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and exceed guest expectations.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event and identify areas for improvement.
  • Marketing Strategy and Execution:
  • Brand Promotion: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the hotel’s services, facilities, and events.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage online marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, and paid advertising to drive awareness and bookings.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the creative team to produce high-quality content, including brochures, newsletters, blog posts, and social media updates.
  • Campaign Management: Plan and execute marketing campaigns for specific events, promotions, and seasons, monitoring their effectiveness and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to understand customer preferences, trends, and competitive positioning, using insights to inform marketing and event strategies.
  • Guest Experience and Engagement:
  • Guest Relations: Work closely with the guest services team to ensure that marketing and event activities enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Feedback Management: Gather and analyze guest feedback from events and marketing campaigns to continuously improve services and offerings.
  • Loyalty Programs: Develop and promote guest loyalty programs to encourage repeat business and increase customer retention.
  • Sales Support:
  • Lead Generation: Collaborate with the sales team to generate leads for events and bookings through targeted marketing efforts.
  • Collateral Development: Create and update marketing collateral, presentations, and promotional materials to support sales efforts.
  • Partnerships: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with local businesses, event planners, and influencers to enhance the hotel’s market reach.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management:
  • Marketing Budget: Manage the marketing budget, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively across campaigns and initiatives.
  • ROI Analysis: Track and report on the return on investment (ROI) for marketing campaigns and events, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the events and marketing team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, food and beverage, and guest services, to ensure cohesive execution of events and marketing initiatives.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all marketing and event activities comply with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on marketing and event performance, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in events management and marketing, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Event Management Expertise: Proven experience in planning and executing successful events, from large-scale conferences to intimate gatherings.
  • Marketing Proficiency: Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, and brand promotion strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing messages and interact effectively with clients and vendors.
