About the team
The team behind business.gov.au are looking for a digital content designer with outstanding communication, written and analytical skills to join the team.
The business.gov.au website connects Australian business owners to information, grants and support from all levels of government. The website is one of the most visited websites operated by the Commonwealth Government.
The business.gov.au content team is responsible for writing, editing and managing business related content, events, and grant opportunities on the business.gov.au website and social media channels.
Our ideal candidate
We’re looking for someone who:
- is a motivated and reliable individual with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- can work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- is able to provide advice on content development, web publishing and accessibility.
- has strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt online and written content based on medium and audience.
- has an eye for detail and is data-driven to deliver content suited to the audience needs.
- has the capability, motivation and good judgement to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
The below skills are desirable:
- familiarity with Australian Government Style Manual and accessibility requirements.
- familiarity with using a website content management system, in particular Sitecore.
- experience with using Google Analytics.
What you will do
Candidates should be comfortable in a dynamic fast-moving environment and bring a personal commitment to provide support to our users.
As a content writer, you will plan and implement engaging content for the business.gov.au website.
You will complete the following tasks:
- publish timely grants, events and business advisers information on the business.gov.au website.
- collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to refine content and documents to meet web, plain English and accessibility standards.
- analyse data and make recommendations to improve content and audience growth on business.gov.au’s digital channels.
- manage the team inbox, making sure tasks are assigned or forwarded to the right areas.
- work with the team on larger projects to improve our user experience and processes.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Notes
A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles. This vacancy is ACT - Industry House based, although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered. Please reach out to the contact officer to discuss this further.
