About the Position City of Canada Bay Council is seeking a diligent and reliable Water & Play Areas Labourer to join our Open Space team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of water features, playgrounds, and recreational facilities within our community. Key Accountabilities:
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of water features and playground equipment.
Inspect and report any damage or hazards in play areas and water facilities.
Assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of playground and water feature equipment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all activities.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to support community events and initiatives.
Respond to public inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
Essential Requirements:
Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or 3 years equivalent experience, Water Operations or related field.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to playgrounds and water features.
Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical capability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
Current Class “C” Drivers Licence
Workcover accredited Construction Induction (White) Card
What’s on offer We are offering a total remuneration from $60,597.74 to $69,687.40 + Super + Allowance. The City of Canada Bay also offers excellent employee benefits which include:
