Currently we are recruiting for a Technical manager. Based onsite at our Moorebank Bakery facility this role will support the site with the identification, assessment and implementation of key business improvements, including product, process and people and improvement. You will Implement approved projects and be the main interface between operations and R&D providing a technical support role to ensure all projects are delivered in full and on time.
Specifically you will:
Lead from the front on safety, food safety and GMP providing direction, coaching and mentoring as required
Lead the implementation of improved process control and systems to deliver improved
consistency of product quality and yield.
Provide an interface between Operations and R&D on all NPD, technical and process related
initiatives.
Ensure that the site has the technical capability to deliver business
strategies in terms of volume growth and new product development. Support the up skilling
and training of production staff & front-line leadership.
Implement all planned projects in line with scope and timelines taking in to account
process/people and product optimisation.
Work with site QA to ensure all new product launches are fully integrated with the site QA
systems.
All new products implemented and handed over to relevant manufacturing sites on time and
within quality standards as detailed within the project brief.
Carry out site capability assessments in line with project brief and provide feedback as
required.
Provide technical advice & support to the operations team to resolve issues including
functional ingredient problems and to assist the site(s) in achieving their manufacturing targets
Compliance of process control framework measured by % implemented & % compliance of
daily and weekly operation
Facilitate communication at site level to implement and optimise Technology initiatives
What you will need:
Formal qualifications in Bakery/and or baking technology/Food science/ Process Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5+ years in a Process Specialist/bakery technical role, Food science (or similar)
Ideally experience in high-speed Wrapping and food manufacturing automation
Experience in working within a food manufacturing environment and developing relationships quickly (essential)
Understanding of end-to-end supply chain drivers within FMCG (preferred)
