Robbo’s Chicken N Meat is a reputable provider of quality meat products in the domestic market in Hobart, Tasmania. Our main company is located centrally in Glenorchy with multiple retail shops locating at Innes Street and Chapel Street. At Robbo’s Chicken N Meat, we provide full range of cuts from Tasmanian lamb, pork, beef and to support Tasmanian local economy. The primary responsibilities will be as following:
Operate meat and bone slicing machines to prepare cuts of meat to specific sizes and weights;
Accurately cut meat to separate it from fat, tissue, and bones while ensuring minimal waste and optimal yield, including trimming and shaping meat to industry standards
Safely and efficiently slice through large portions of meat, including bone-in cuts, separating fat and tissues around bones;
Inspect meat products for quality and ensure consistency in thickness and presentation;
Sharpen and maintain cutting tools and machinery regularly
Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including proper handling of knives, slicers, and machinery
Assist in packaging, labeling, and storing meat products as needed
Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and maintain workflow efficiency
Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations
To be successful for this role you need:
Proven experience as a Meat Boner and Slicer, Butcher, or in a similar role
Ability to work with a variety of meat products, including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb
Knowledge of safe handling practices and food safety regulations
Physical strength and stamina to handle large cuts of meat and stand for long periods
Attention to detail and ability to produce precise cuts
Ability to comply with all environmental compliance and safety regulations;
Strong work ethic and team player
