Your Opportunity
As the Schools Liaison Officer, you will:
- Promote and facilitate a broad range of vocational programs delivered both internally and externally by TAFE Queensland Gold Coast schools.
- Coordinate the development, communications and implementation of these programs across the Region and also contribute to the development, promotion and facilitation of the Regions delivery to schools.
This position reports to the Manager Customer Service.
This is a Permanent Full Time position.
The position will be based primarily at the Ashmore Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate and maintain communication networks with key management and delivery staff within partnering schools and to ensure high quality training is delivered.
- Contribute to the management of promotional activities of the Domestic Business Unit.
- Liaise with educational delivery units to support the growth and effective management of the schools program.
- Facilitate the negotiation and project management of business proposal and contracts with client schools.
- Maintain current knowledge of all TQGC products, services and systems to ensure effective communication and delivery to appropriate TQGC client groups.
- Build and maintain effective client relationships and accounts by ensuring all aspects of schools contracts are addressed including feedback and follow up procedures to foster repeat business.
- Monitor performance against revenue targets to ensure profitability is achieved and provide reports to the Manager, Domestic Business on a monthly basis or as required.
- Contribute to the achievement of TAFE Queensland's quality policies by encouraging an environment where high quality work is achieved and supported by the adherence/development of quality system documentation.
- Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
- Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.
- Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

- Demonstrated written and oral communication abilities and interpersonal and team work skills, including the ability to liaise with all levels across and organisation to achieve effective stakeholder outcomes.
- Demonstrated understanding of the vocational education and training sector including knowledge of secondary schools and tertiary education system and the pathways students can take to enter tertiary education.
- Demonstrated ability to use business management tools to assist in the timely preparation, documentation and reporting on the program's business position.
- Demonstrated ability to use computerised systems including database, word processing and spread sheeting and the ability to quickly acquire knowledge and skills in new hardware/software applications.
- Displays the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
